Privacy Policy for PagesUs

Last Updated: February 27, 2026

1. Introduction

PagesUs is developed and maintained by NapSac Labs™ ("we", "our", or "us").

We are committed to protecting user privacy and minimizing data collection. PagesUs provides ephemeral, contextual discussion spaces tied to supported web pages (such as YouTube, GitHub, and LinkedIn) without collecting personally identifiable information (PII) or tracking user browsing behavior.

2. Information We Collect

Page Context (URL)

PagesUs reads the URL of the currently active browser tab when the side panel is open, or via a background script solely to check for active messages on supported sites. This URL is processed locally in your browser to generate a non-identifiable "Context ID" (for example: yt_video_123). We do not store full URLs or maintain browsing history.

Anonymous Alias & Preferences

PagesUs does not require accounts or login. A randomly generated anonymous alias (for example, User-1234) is created and stored locally using Chrome’s storage API to provide a consistent display name. We also store basic UI preferences locally (such as dismissing instructional prompts).

Live Viewer Presence

To display a live count of active users in a discussion, PagesUs temporarily tracks your anonymous connection status to the specific Context ID room. This connection state is dropped as soon as you leave the page or close the panel.

Chat Messages

Messages you choose to send are transmitted securely to our backend infrastructure to be delivered to other users in the same Context ID.

3. Data Retention (Ephemeral Design)

PagesUs is designed around temporary, short-lived discussions.

  • Messages: Automatically deleted from our servers within 12 hours of creation.
  • Browsing Data: PagesUs does not store visited URLs, page content, or browsing history.

4. How We Use Information

Collected information is used strictly to:

  • Associate users with the correct discussion room for the active page.
  • Update numerical notification badges on the extension icon for supported pages.
  • Display a real-time count of active, anonymous viewers in the same discussion.
  • Enable real-time message delivery.
  • Apply basic spam and abuse prevention measures.

PagesUs does not profile users, track behavior, or perform analytics on browsing activity.

5. Third-Party Infrastructure

PagesUs uses the following service provider:

Supabase

Supabase is used to facilitate real-time message delivery and live viewer counts. All data in transit is encrypted using standard SSL/TLS protocols.

PagesUs does not use advertising services, analytics tools, tracking cookies, or marketing pixels.

6. Data Sharing

PagesUs does not sell, rent, or share user data with third parties for advertising, analytics, or marketing purposes.

7. User Consent

By installing and using the PagesUs extension, you consent to this Privacy Policy.
